Members of the Crusader Squadron CyberPatriot Team were given a hands-on tour of the US Postal Inspection Service Digital Forensics Lab last week. The Cadets were shown how data can be extracted and recovered from computer drives, even if the data has been deleted, and how the information gathered can be used to prosecute criminals.

They were also given a demonstration of how the Postal Service deals with suspicious packages and “white powder letters”, and how different substances are analyzed to determine if they are dangerous or bogus.

Special Thanks goes to 1Lt. Keith Burley for the tour.
